Before becoming an attorney, Brian served as a police officer in Massachusetts—investigating accidents, issuing citations, making DUI arrests, and collaborating with the RMV’s Enforcement Services Division on license fraud investigations. He became certified to operate traffic radar, administer infrared breath tests, and conduct NHTSA-standardized field sobriety tests.

Attorney Simoneau is a co-author of Obtaining, Losing, and Seeking Reinstatement of Driver’s Licenses (also known in some references as Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Offenses – Criminal, Civil, and Registry Practice). Kyle Lam is a former Assistant District Attorney who brings a sophisticated, trial-focused approach to defending clients charged with DUI and other serious criminal offenses.

As an experienced prosecutor, having worked for two District Attorney’s Offices, Kyle has handled a wide range of criminal matters—including Operating Under the Influence, domestic violence, drug offenses, and other complex criminal cases. The extensive litigation experience he developed gives him deep understanding of how the Commonwealth investigates, builds, and presents its cases. That experience now informs his defense strategy and he leverages that knowledge to aggressively defend his clients.

Kyle approaches every DUI case with precision and discipline. He conducts a detailed analysis of the initial stop, the administration of field sobriety tests, the reliability of chemical testing, and the procedural conduct of the police. His background allows him to identify subtle but critical weaknesses—which he uses to obtain not guilty verdicts, dismissals, and other favorable outcomes.
